Rhylee IHOP Kid Chef Contest

Rhylee Culwell was born with Cystic Fibrosis and her family drives to from East Texas to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas multiple times each month for treatment.

IHOP partners with Children’s Medical Center to bring the annual ‘IHOP Kid Chef Contest’ where kids are able to make and design their own pancakes for a chance to win national recognition.

When Rhylee heard about the contest, she practiced making pancakes for weeks and mastered her “Grinch Pancakes” with the help of Gregorio, a sous chef at Children’s Health.

“For my pancake creation I decided to make Grinch Pancakes! I recently have been watching the grinch and thought to myself, who doesn’t like Grinch Pancakes? I was lucky enough to work with Gregorio a sous chef at Children’s Health who helped cut the strawberries and prepare the batter. I added green food coloring to the batter to give the Grinch its color. Once the pancake was done, I added blueberries to make the eyes and a strawberry for the nose. The pancake was finished with a whipped cream smile topped with Oreo cookies” said Rhylee.
